This is one of my very favorite locations. I shot these in the winter and during that time there are thorns everywhere. So needless to say we went home and de-thorned ourselves for the next hour but I would say it was worth it. I love shooting bellies and I love it when people drive from Maryland for me to shoot them. Makes me feel knowledgeable at what I do but adds a whole extra layer of pressure. Thanks Amie and Drew. It was totally worth it minus the thorns!

This was quite the adventurous session. When you shoot natural light in the woods you have to be mindful of ant hills and snakes. Well… both made an appearance at this session. Luckily this family lives on a farm and was used to it! I, on the other hand , was a little freaked out! These two were so excited to meet their baby soon! Since this session I have met baby Olivia myself. She has already made her photo debut…coming soon… Emma was in her element outside and was so interested in everything nature had to offer. She even caught a preying mantis while we were outside. Take a peek at their maternity session and enjoy!

I have been photographing this family since I picked up my camera for the first time. In August they will be welcoming baby Leah into their lives. Unfortunately not into their home right away. Leah has a heart defect called Hypoplastic left heart syndrome that will keep her in the hospital for the first month of her life. We are anxiously awaiting her birth and can not wait to celebrate girl #3! Congrats guys and I can not wait for Leah photo debut!

Does she not have the perfect belly!? This a good friend in my neighborhood and we decided to do both “studio” and natural light outside. The “studio” was her home right by her front door. We took pictures down off of the wall and magically I have a seamless backdrop! Then of course we ventured to the field I love to shoot at just up the road. Big brother Caden was clueless about why we were there but did a great job as always! The best thing is that Mason was born earlier this week and I have already had his session! Youngest one I have ever shot. He was all of 4 days old! Check back for that squishy love!

I had the pleasure of traveling to Wake Forest for the first time to do this session. For those of you who do not know what an in-home session would be like… this is it. This was in their front room where light was coming in from a bay window. I moved out a table that was against the wall I needed her to be in front of and hubby worked the reflector for me! These sessions have a more at home feel to them and they can be just as beautiful as going to a studio. I have another session coming that was based outdoors. Look back for those! Thanks guys for allowing me to come into your home and capture these while you wait for that baby! Can’t wait until he or she arrives to capture them, too!
