i love this family. they trust me beyond words and make me feel so at ease when i shoot.

the first time i shoot her a year ago they called her bird. i love that.

not much else to say except I had so much fun watching this family unfold in front of my camera. The first image pretty much encompasses how they feel about each other. It was undeniable.

dreaming of fall again.

As I sit here looking over my older session that I have never bloggged I see they all have the same theme… fall. It is my busiest time and I rarely get a chance to show them. Any down time I have after the session, editing and ordering is dedicated to family and not blogging. Now that it is 100 degrees and I am only shooting babies inside, I am looking over these sessions hoping for fall to come soon! Here is one of my favorite and most supportive families during their mini-session last year with their other family member, Sadie!

oh he has grown. last time i saw him i was wrapping him up like a burrito and keeping the heater close to him to keep him asleep for his newborn shots. now he is wearing a vest and be tossed in the air! how i cherish those shots when they are tiny for those first 10 days of life. there is nothing like it! then to see them with a personality changes my whole view on what stage I like to shoot best. here is the Z family back on the blog. you all are adorable.

There is a long line of love from this family to mine. Steph’s mom is my Aunt. An aunt who Maddux and I am named after. We carry her name with pride and I also carry her heart. Her life was too short and Maddux just missed meeting her but her legacy is carried throughout my family and Stephanie’s family.

Stephanie has her very own photography business in Louisiana and who I bought my first camera from 4 years ago. I had the nervous pleasure of photographing her family this Christmas and I am so happy she finally got on the other side. Photographers never do and we are entitled to have our family pictures as much if not more than the ones we shoot.

I am not sure what they have in Louisiana that grows their boys like they do but we need a little over here! It could be the alligators or the mosquitos but what ever it is they got it down!

Praying for the healing of so many things in her life now so I wanted to share some sunshine with her!

… you are loved. You may remember this family who I posted a little while back here. We loved each other so much we did it again two months later. Well, not really. Little bird was not in the best of moods during this shoot so we tried again and her smiles came through more on that shoot. Where to even begin? I have known this mama ALL my life. We were best friends, then not, then best friends, then not! We had the best imagination of any children I know. We decorated and rearranged our playhouse 1,000,000 different ways and so we carry on the tradition into our own real homes now. I have so many fond memories with her that I can not believe I got the opportunity to photograph her family. I blogged her 2 years ago in a more urban setting here. Thanks for driving to me P family and having coffee with me before we even started. I wish I could do that with all my clients!

from brownies to families- Raleigh Family Photographer

The title sounds strange but yes, Lindsey and I went to brownies together as little girls! I practically grew up with her. Her mom used to cook me grilled cheese and honey sandwiches. YUM by the way! I even went to high school with her husband. So imagine my excitement when she wanted me to do her family pictures! Beyond honored. Her girls melted my heart. We squished, we loved, we hugged , we laughed.

It is always nice to meet up with old friends, catch up, and give them memories to stare at forever. Thanks guys for trusting me with your photos and for traveling all the way here to do it! I was beyond excited! HUGS!

…that is what you have to do after their session. Breathe with excitement that you got them all together. Breathe that no one pee pee’d on themselves-this time, and breathe that no one choked on dandelions- this time.

We added another boy to the bunch this time around and I was so excited to get these images for mom and dad! Mr. G is such a smiley baby! The boys love him to death! Thanks everyone to livening up my life!
