If anyone asked me, ” where do you see your business in 5 years?” … this family would be my answer. I would shoot every session for families fighting like them. This is why I do what I do. This is why I was given my Maddux. Photography has shown me that life happens no matter what and I want to be there to capture in the still life so I can remember it forever. Photographs have the ability to take you back to that moment in time and be thankful.

Miss M was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in February and has been fighting like crazy ever since at Duke Medical Center. There are a few fundraisers coming up to help the W family. The first one is April 12th at Devil’s Ridge Golf Club. Go to the site and check them out.

They are a family I will know forever. One that I think of every morning and I am fighting right along side of them. So is the whole community! Here is their beautiful family.

Today was a good day. It started with LOVE and ended with LOVE. We celebrated with sweet baby Leah today and her family. After 2 open heart surgery’s and a week from getting her g-tube taken out we are celebrating. We are celebrating her love, her life, her heart. Here are just a few from our happy day!

You know how when you meet someone you know that you two have so much in common? Well here she is… she was one of the sweetest people I have ever met and we laughed the entire time while we sweat during this late fall session. The trees were gorgeous, the weather was still a little sticky but the family was a blast. Mom even joked about her hair getting bigger by the minute. I have the luxury of wearing my hair in a pony tail so not to shock anyone! I used to be called Lion King in college. Mom you are far from big hair! I made a beautiful card for them this Christmas that I loved so much. I asked mom if she wanted to included a biblical saying on her card and she said, ” Yes honey, I love jesus!” She is so my type of person! You have a beautiful family and I have some memories from that shoot to take with me!

This shoot was from so long ago I think the youngest is now 10 years old! The R family is one of my biggest fans! Mom always comments on my pics and has helped me out with knitting some goodies for my newborns I love so much! I am a full circle business! Dad may not want me to mention this but… I got a very sweet email from him after viewing his gallery! You know you must have gotten it all if the dad sends out an email. He may have been bribed, I am not sure , but for now lets say was wasn’t! Thanks guys so much for coming to me again and making more memories! Now no more shoots because there is no more room left on your walls! Oh, wait a minute! You need to move! Thanks for being patient for this post! I am catching up!

Little Miss K was definitely worthy of post #1 in 2010! I could shoot her fun personality all day. It was a far cry from my last shoot with her but I am so glad she warmed up to me this time. She jumped out of her car with the biggest smile on her face so proud of her ultra cool outfit and boots! I am not sure the boots made it through the session in one piece but who cares… the pictures turned out fun so they served their purpose! Welcome 2010 and keep up the fun-ness Miss K! Until next fall!

a mother’s tale… a photographers heart- Raleigh Lifestyle Photographer

I saved this post as my last post for 2009. This session started my fall season and I have yet to blog my late summer ones but this family holds a special place on my heart. Jessica Barlow is a wonderful photographer a few hours from me that came to me as other photographers stated that her son, like Maddux, was too hard to photograph. She packed up her family and headed to me! This beautiful boy below captured my heart right away. He had the most beautiful eyes and his brother loved him so much. To be able to capture a families love in a photo means more to moms like Jessica and me than anyone will ever know. To meet a child, as I did with Maddux, through photos is a documented conversation between each member of the family. I think these kids have a direct connection to things and people that we can not see. They are pure love, pure joy and pure heart. Thanks Barlow family for allowing me to see your families heart. You all are so special to me and I am so honored you trusted me to capture these for you! Merry Christmas!!!!!

Thanks for sharing 2009 with me! I look forward to the memories in 2010!~

What can I say about this family! We are so BFF’s. I have never met a girl so much like me in my life. We went to college together and have been inseparable ever since! It is very hard for me to see my life without her in it. Now she has a family and of course we have a blast when we get together. Just to give you a little taste as to why we are so alike here are our lives:

1. both dated our husbands for years before marrying

2. both teachers

3. both certified in interpreting for the Deaf

4. both have a boy and girl

5. Her boy is Kaden and my boy in Cade (not planned either!)

6. both Photographers

7. both love primitives

8. both will die with each others secrets!

9. both love each other dearly

I am sure if could continue but you may throw up at how much we are alike. She is my best friend and I love her! Here is her GORGEOUS family!

a small world-Apex baby photographer

I actually knew these 2 in college but did not realize it until they showed up for our shoot. I told dad that I thought he looked familiar and we started discussing where I lived before, where I went to college and then it hit me! I think we went to school together for 3 years. His wife was there, too. My college was so small and not one anyone ever hears of so it was shocking to know they both went there and at the same time! Small world. Here is the gorgeous family and just molded into each other and made my session with them a breeze! Thanks guys and I hope to see you all again! Go Cougars!

Oh how I love this family! This session was possible through the Anna’s Angels Foundation where they are dedicated to supporting research for children with Down Syndrome. We have been waiting for this session for about a year now and YAY!!!! Here it is. Blogged a few months late but that is another story, it is Christmas season for me and I am tired. It is funny that this field now is brown and I am just getting around to blogging but oh well! I am still blogging.

This family also was the first at purchasing my newest product for 2010! I am now going to start offering antique frames! I have waited so long to do this and I am so happy to finally be adding it to my list. I am just as crazy over a beautiful frame as I am a gorgeous picture. Seriously obsessed! Pictures to follow soon!

heat, style and smiles… we had it all

OH BOY was is a hot one! Yes…. these are from way back in August. under my breath *must blog more, must blog more!* I think Miss Z is probably on college now but she sure is cute! I did get her to smile for a few. Mom says she has never gotten a photo of her smile. Then again I love the less smiley ones anyway. But we did get it! For those of you who will ask the umbrella is fro Old Navy. They had some super cute blue ones, too! Great for photography! Thanks gals for driving so far for our session. It really means a lot that you trust me enough as a photographer to take 1/2 a day to spend on the road to get and shoot with me! Here is little Miss Z…
